About the Role
The position provides high‑level technical project leadership, overseeing the administrative, commercial, and technical aspects of moderate to large, regionally‑focused projects in line with WSP’s core values and contractual agreements. The incumbent is accountable for overall project performance, including financial health, client satisfaction, quality, safety, and schedule adherence throughout every phase of the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include directing cross‑functional teams, managing budgets, tracking hours and expenses, developing proposals, cost estimates, work breakdown structures and resource plans, and ensuring rigorous technical reviews and QA/QC compliance. The role also involves mentoring staff, conducting margin analyses, participating in contract negotiations, preparing project initiation documents, facilitating kick‑off meetings, and collaborating with accounting and procurement to monitor metrics, cash flow, and close‑out activities. • Direct cross‑functional technical teams on multiple concurrent projects. • Manage project budgets, track hours, expenses, and material costs. • Develop proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and resource plans. • Create and maintain work breakdown structures (WBS) and associated cost estimates. • Conduct technical reviews and enforce QA/QC procedures. • Mentor and develop project team members. • Perform margin analysis and set risk contingencies. • Participate in contract negotiations and client presentations. • Prepare and update project initiation documents (risk, PMP, QP, PSP, communications). • Lead project kick‑off meetings with stakeholders. • Collaborate with project accounting to monitor metrics, cash flow, and margin. • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and change control. • Coordinate resource and subcontractor requirements with technical managers. • Communicate regularly with clients on status, safety incidents, and issue impacts. • Provide project status reports and identify scope, risk, or budget concerns. • Monitor accounts receivable and unbilled revenue. • Work with procurement to close out contracts and supplier agreements. • Execute formal project close‑out and lead lessons‑learned sessions. • Stay current on project‑management best practices and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Maintain a strong safety record and comply with WSP policies.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or a related field, an essential project‑management certification (e.g., PMP, CAP‑M), and at least ten years of post‑graduate experience in A/E/C project management. They must demonstrate strong analytical, critical‑thinking, communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency with MS Office and project‑management tools, and a proven record of safety compliance and ethical decision‑making. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related discipline. • Possess a PMP, CAP‑M, or equivalent project‑management certification. • Bring 10+ years of A/E/C project‑management experience. • Demonstrate strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities. • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Proficient in MS Office, Visio, Project, SharePoint and other PM tools.
