About the Role

The role is for a Senior Technical Planner within the Nuclear, Defence and Civil team, responsible for planning and delivering complex UK infrastructure programmes. The planner works closely with project managers, technical and commercial teams to align timelines, risks and resources. Planning is seen as the driver of project success; the Senior Planner will coordinate with other planners, protect commercial interests and deliver visible, influential results from day one. • Manage schedule portfolio and communicate outputs to all stakeholders. • Ensure schedules adhere to procedures and best practices. • Apply Earned Value (EV) analysis, identify variances and recommend mitigations. • Collaborate with lead and management teams to drive project success. • Optimise and improve schedule structures. • Implement change control, ideally using NEC contract model. • Perform schedule integrity checks, assess critical paths and flag issues. • Work with cost engineers and control managers to support EACs. • Create and maintain resource‑loaded schedules applying credit rules. • Use Bentley Synchro, Primavera P6 and BIM models to produce detailed plans. • Capture full project scope, risks, opportunities and uphold health & safety standards.

What You Bring

The position requires appropriate security clearance and is open to candidates eligible for UK immigration routes that do not require Skilled Worker sponsorship. • Demonstrated experience planning detailed, resourced schedules with EV on engineering projects. • Expert user of Primavera P6 managing multiple schedules. • Strong communication skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels. • Awareness of emerging planning technologies and innovations. • Excellent written and verbal communication; confident presenter to external audiences. • Commitment to continuous professional development; preferably a member of APM, ACostE or similar.
