About the Role

The Project Director position is responsible for managing and coordinating projects of all sizes and complexities through all phases of design, permitting, and construction. Project Directors also provide leadership for site Project Managers by managing, coordinating, and developing ATI staff. They assume complete responsibility for project financials, including establishing payment terms and collecting outstanding payments, and operate with significant independence as the principal project representative. Senior and Executive Project Directors additionally manage and mentor assigned Project Estimators. Principal responsibilities include reviewing project scopes, establishing budgets and payment terms, overseeing financial performance, directing Project Managers, managing accounts receivable, mentoring estimators, creating achievable schedules, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring quality, communicating with customers, handling change orders, completing punch list items, securing satisfaction certificates, resolving conflicts, monitoring OSHA and safety compliance, participating in marketing activities, and upholding all company policies. Project Directors may oversee projects up to $250,000 in value, while Senior and Executive Project Directors have no monetary limit and are responsible for generating their own business. • Review projects to ensure clear, documented scope understood by the customer • Establish project budgets that achieve targeted gross margins • Assume responsibility for pricing, costs, margins, and budget creation • Set payment terms, including progress billings and deductible payments • Direct Project Managers on payment terms and collection of outstanding amounts • Collect all outstanding accounts receivable, directly or via legal and collections partnerships • Mentor Project Estimators: review financial performance, conduct joint job walks, administer 360‑degree reviews, ensure TPA compliance and strong POM scores, conduct annual reviews, assign training opportunities, reward, motivate, and discipline staff as needed • Create an achievable completion schedule agreed upon with the customer • Acquire, direct, and manage subcontractors; negotiate subcontractor agreements • Review and inspect work performed to ensure quality • Communicate regularly with the customer, assigned Project Manager, and A/R team • Work with the customer to complete change orders • Prepare and complete punch list items at project closeout • Resolve conflicts, warranty issues, and other complaints • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and all company safety policies • Participate in company‑sponsored marketing functions and events • Uphold all company policies, procedures, and safety standards • Project Directors: oversee projects up to $250,000 in value • Senior and Executive Project Directors: no monetary limits, responsible for generating own business

What You Bring

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of restoration experience, including three years as an estimator or project manager in a disaster restoration company with knowledge of water mitigation, fire restoration, and mold remediation. Additional experience as a Project Director or Senior/Executive Project Director with excellent performance ratings is required for advancement. Required certifications include IICRC (all levels) and Xactimate training corresponding to the role: Level 1 for Project Directors, Level 2 for Senior Project Directors, and Level 3 for Executive Project Directors.
