About the Role
You will lead day‑to‑day technical delivery of civil engineering consultancy services, supporting clients through every stage of the project life‑cycle from feasibility and concept design through planning, detailed design and construction. Your expertise will span drainage, SuDS, flood risk, highways, streetscape, earthworks and utilities across land, property and infrastructure development projects. You will provide project leadership on multi‑disciplinary projects, acting as Project Manager where required, and guide a team of experienced and developing technical staff. You will be involved in high‑profile client engagement, stakeholder management, and design team collaboration both internal and with external multidisciplinary professionals. You will ensure projects are delivered within budget, on programme, and to the required technical, legal and quality standards. We help clients promote, implement and manage sustainable development from pre‑feasibility through to planning consent, providing multi‑disciplinary design from concept to detailed design and construction. Our services include drainage, flood risk and SuDS; civil engineering, highways design and earthworks strategies; utilities, energy planning and coordination; and site appraisal, due diligence and strategic planning advice. • Lead daily technical delivery of civil engineering consultancy across all project phases. • Provide expertise in drainage, SuDS, flood risk, highways, streetscape, earthworks and utilities. • Act as Project Manager on multi‑disciplinary projects and mentor junior staff. • Manage client engagement, stakeholder relationships and multidisciplinary design collaboration. • Deliver projects within budget, schedule and required quality, technical and legal standards. • Produce infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations and construction drawings. • Apply relevant design codes (Water UK, DMRB, Manual for Streets, SuDS Manual, etc.) and emerging climate‑change guidance. • Utilize or oversee software such as Micro Drainage, Info Drainage, Civils 3D and PDS. • Liaise with clients, co‑professionals and authorities to secure technical approvals and statutory agreements. • Work hybrid with two remote days per week and collaborate in modern offices. • Participate in inclusive employee resource groups and receive development and chartership support.

We are looking for knowledge and experience in highway design, drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, utility design and the development sector, with a solid understanding of hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics and construction design stages. You must be able to produce infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations and construction drawings, and be versed in relevant design codes and software such as Micro Drainage, Info Drainage, Civils 3D and PDS. Experience liaising with clients, co‑professionals and authorities to secure approvals, as well as understanding legal, planning, financial and contractual aspects of development projects, is essential. Applicants should be nearing chartership or have equivalent commercial experience and be willing to become an ICE Supervising or Delegated Civil Engineer. • Demonstrate knowledge of legal, planning, financial and contractual processes for development projects. • Near chartership or possess equivalent commercial experience; willing to become an ICE Supervising/Delegated Civil Engineer.
