About the Role
The role involves developing and optimising protection and control solutions, reviewing supplier designs for compliance, acting as Owner’s Engineer for high‑voltage and renewable projects, and conducting protection coordination studies using tools like ETAP. • Develop and optimise protection & control (P&C) solutions, including line, schematic, relay, SCADA, wiring diagrams and design specifications. • Review supplier designs for technical compliance with National Grid/client policies and standards. • Act as Owner’s Engineer to evaluate supplier designs and calculations for high‑voltage, BESS and renewables projects. • Perform protection coordination studies and settings calculations using ETAP or similar tools.

What You Bring
We are looking for candidates with an electrical or power engineering qualification (HNC/HND, BSc/BEng, MSc/MEng) and experience in high‑voltage transmission design (132‑400 kV). Ideal candidates have worked with 275‑400 kV systems in consulting, utility, renewable generation or OEM environments, are strong team players with client‑focused communication skills, and can manage multiple projects flexibly. • Hold an electrical/power engineering qualification (HNC/HND, BSc/BEng, MSc/MEng) with experience in HV transmission design (132‑400 kV). • Demonstrated experience with 275‑400 kV transmission projects in consulting, utility, renewable or OEM environments. • Strong team‑player attitude and client‑focused communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects flexibly.
