About the Role

The Carpenter position supports industrial construction projects by interpreting blueprints, sketches, and building plans, and ensuring all work follows company and safety regulations. Candidates must possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities, have reliable transportation, and own required tools. Key duties include reading specifications to determine material needs, identifying tools and safety precautions, measuring and cutting wood or metal, constructing and dismantling concrete and wooden forms, and maintaining clean work areas. The role also requires flexibility to assist other trades and perform additional tasks when not engaged in primary carpentry work. • Read blueprints and specifications to determine material quantities and locations. • Identify required tools and safety precautions for each task. • Measure, mark, and cut wood or metal to required specifications. • Construct, reinforce, and dismantle concrete forms. • Build wooden forms and additional structures such as decks, steps, and bulletin boards. • Perform cleanup and housekeeping of work areas.

What You Bring

Applicants must have at least four years of experience as a carpenter or helper on industrial sites, be proficient in blueprint reading, and understand basic building techniques and form construction. They should be capable of basic arithmetic, meet full‑time schedules with possible overtime, and consistently follow safety and site rules. Preferred candidates are current or former Zachry employees, hold NCCER Industrial Journeyman Carpenter certification, have formal technical education, and possess experience with concrete and rebar work. The position demands physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, and working at heights or on scaffolding, while wearing required personal protective equipment. Work may be performed in all weather conditions, requiring effective communication and adherence to PPE protocols. • Minimum four years experience as carpenter or carpenter helper on industrial construction projects. • Proficient in reading blueprints, plans, and drawings. • Knowledge of materials, tools, and basic building/form construction techniques. • Ability to perform basic arithmetic, measure, mark, and cut to specifications. • Reliable transportation and ownership of required tools. • Current or former Zachry employee or Zachry ROF’ed status. • NCCER Industrial Journeyman Carpenter certification. • Experience working with concrete and rebar. • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, sit, and lift up to 50 lb repeatedly. • Capability to work at heights, ladders, and scaffolding with appropriate fall protection. • Work in all weather conditions while wearing required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, respirator, hi‑vis vest, gloves, steel‑toe boots).
