About the Role
The role is a cleared (SECRET) Armed Security Officer Shift Supervisor for Vaxcom Services LLC, a Parsons company. You will lead and manage shift security operations of a team of armed security officers at a classified 24/7 facility, ensuring protection of the customer’s facilities, personnel, and operations. The shift supervisor works eight‑hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, controlling access by monitoring surveillance, inspecting vehicles, and verifying identification. You will respond to incidents—ranging from fire and medical emergencies to bomb threats—using the appropriate level of force and established use‑of‑force policies. Additional duties include observing and reporting suspicious activity, maintaining proficiency with equipment and weapons, performing magnetometer screenings, providing on‑site leadership, interfacing with the client, and coordinating with program management. • Control facility access by monitoring surveillance, inspecting vehicles, and verifying identification • Respond to emergencies (fire, medical, bomb threats, hazardous materials) using appropriate escalation of force • Observe, report, and investigate suspicious activity • Maintain proficiency with assigned equipment, weapons, and magnetometer screening devices • Lead and direct a small team of armed security officers during each shift • Coordinate with the client and program management to resolve issues and communicate facility events

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, possess an active SECRET security clearance, and have at least two years of experience in law enforcement, corrections, government/commercial security, or the armed forces. Strong observational, situational awareness, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, as are certifications in first aid/CPR/AED, FEMA courses 100, 200, 700, and 800, and proficiency with Glock 17, shotgun, and rifle. Prior leadership experience, whether formal or informal, and experience working with sensitive clients are also required. Preferred qualifications include prior commercial armed‑security experience with access control, CCTV, and alarm systems, as well as experience in a classified facility. Candidates holding a Maryland Guard Card and Handgun Qualification License, a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and a record of formal leadership as a team lead or supervisor are strongly desired. The ability to de‑escalate conflicts professionally is also valued. An active Secret clearance is mandatory for this position, which is part of Parsons’ Federal Solutions segment that delivers resources to U.S. government customers worldwide.
