Lead Solution Architect R2R

About the Role

You will define the overall SAP technical solution, ensuring cross‑module and integrated application alignment, and lead the global R2R solution‑architect team to maintain design quality and consistency. The role involves driving requirements engineering, collaborating with business stakeholders and cross‑functional streams to design cost‑efficient SAP solutions that adhere to SAP standards, translating functional designs into detailed specifications, overseeing documentation and training materials, and supporting unit testing, UAT and defect resolution. Staying current with emerging technologies and SAP best practices, you will provide expert guidance for new or evolving SAP solutions and processes, and help prioritize business demands while communicating technical specifications to development teams. The position also includes contributing to project set‑up, delivery and service‑operations optimisation, managing work‑stream interdependencies across end‑to‑end streams. • Define and maintain the overall SAP technical solution across modules. • Lead and mentor the global R2R solution‑architect team. • Drive requirements engineering and decide between standard SAP functionality, enhancements, or workarounds. • Collaborate with business stakeholders to design cost‑efficient, SAP‑standard‑aligned solutions. • Translate functional designs into detailed specifications and keep documentation and training up to date. • Support unit testing, UAT and defect resolution to ensure solution quality. • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and SAP best practices to guide solution evolution. • Provide expertise for complex transitions such as carve‑outs. • Manage work‑stream interdependencies across end‑to‑end streams. • Lead onsite/offshore functional and ABAP teams for a minimum of 3 years.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline, with at least 10 years of IT experience, including 8 years in solution architecture focused on S/4HANA and 5 years on global projects. A strong background in Finance/Controlling, preferably in manufacturing, at least three years of team‑leadership experience managing onsite/offshore functional and ABAP teams, and hands‑on knowledge of integration tools such as BizTalk or MuleSoft, SAP ABAP and ALE/IDoc are required. SAP certifications (S/4HANA or related) and fluency in English are also expected; international work experience and SAP best‑practice implementation in complex transitions are a plus. • Possess at least 10 years of IT experience with 8 years in S/4HANA architecture and 5 years on global projects. • Demonstrate strong Finance/Controlling knowledge, preferably in manufacturing. • Have hands‑on experience with integration tools (BizTalk or MuleSoft) and SAP ABAP/ALE / IDoc. • Hold SAP certifications (S/4HANA or related) and fluency in English.
