About the Role

The engineer will contribute to project designs for water‑related structures, perform engineering calculations and cost estimates, conduct field inspections, and ensure quality through QA/QC checks. Responsibilities also include interpreting multidisciplinary drawings, researching code provisions and design alternatives, and assisting senior staff with proposals and drawing revisions. • Perform engineering calculations and create construction cost estimates. • Design structures on or near water, such as locks, dams, gates, and mooring dolphins. • Conduct QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, and outcomes. • Interpret multidisciplinary drawings and respond to RFIs. • Carry out field inspections and surveys supporting design and construction. • Research and apply relevant code provisions to designs. • Explore design alternatives and document findings for project managers. • Select and apply standard engineering techniques using professional judgement. • Assist senior staff in preparing proposals, client information, and designs. • Develop and modify engineering drawings as needed.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with EIT certification and interest in water‑based structural projects considered assets. Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation and strong English communication skills are preferred. The salary range is $70,300 to $77,235 annually, depending on qualifications. • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required. • EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification is a plus. • Interest in water‑adjacent structural projects preferred. • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation preferred. • Proficient English communication for written and verbal instructions.
