About the Role

The Boilermaker position is focused on maintenance of coal‑fired power plant equipment. Duties include removing, replacing, and repairing various piping systems, as well as servicing boiler components such as soot blowers, burners, and dampers. The role also requires experience with flue‑gas desulfurization equipment and the ability to troubleshoot both minor and major issues. • Remove, replace, and repair piping systems on coal‑fired boiler equipment. • Service soot blowers, burners, dampers, and flue‑gas desulfurization components. • Dismantle and reassemble pumps and other rotating machinery. • Read specifications, blueprints, and cut sheets to plan material and work scope. • Identify required tools and safely operate specialty equipment such as torque wrenches, plasma cutters, and cranes. • Perform steel fabrication using torches, band saws, grinders, and related tools. • Conduct minor pipe fabrication and prepare pipe/steel for welding procedures. • Execute rigging tasks using safe practices, appropriate slings, and correct knot tying. • Follow safety protocols, signal equipment, and flag crane and lift operations. • Apply basic math for measurements, calculations, and material estimations. • Maintain reliable transportation and personal tool set.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least six years of relevant experience and hold an NCCER written or NCCER‑plus certification, including the Industrial Boilermaker designation. Physical capabilities to work at heights, in confined spaces, and on a rotating schedule that includes nights and weekends are required, along with reliable transportation and the necessary tools. The successful applicant will be proficient in reading specifications, blueprints, and cut sheets to determine material needs, perform steel and pipe fabrication, and execute rigging and hoisting operations safely. Competence with specialty tools—torque wrenches, plasma cutters, grinders, and various lifts—is essential, as is knowledge of safety procedures, knot tying, and basic math for accurate measurements. • Possess 6+ years of experience with NCCER Industrial Boilermaker certification. • Meet physical requirements for work at heights, confined spaces, and rotating night/weekend shifts. • Hold a valid driver’s license and be self‑motivated to perform additional duties.
