About the Role
The Energy team at AECOM is expanding its digital capabilities across Transmission & Distribution, Renewables, and Nuclear de‑commissioning. The role supports the central Digital Energy Team or one of three practices, delivering digital transformation while holding senior project information or BIM manager responsibilities on programmes such as the National Grid Great Grid Upgrade. The successful candidate will lead the creation and rollout of ISO 19650 information management frameworks, work directly with senior client and digital delivery teams, and establish quality and governance processes for digital information delivery. They will also represent AECOM as a thought leader at stakeholder meetings and industry forums. In the Information Management track, responsibilities include authoring ISO 19650 documents (EIR, BEP, MIDP, TIDP), configuring and managing Common Data Environment systems, ensuring CDE adoption across the project, defining BIM Execution Plans, and overseeing Master Information Delivery Plans and delivery assurance. The BIM Delivery track focuses on implementing BIM and digital delivery processes such as 3D/4D/5D integration, evaluating digital tools for Modern Methods of Construction, supporting BIM verification for engineering and construction, and driving integration of CAD‑GIS, immersive visualization, VR/AR and digital twin technologies. Leadership duties involve creating training programmes, developing communication materials, identifying new business opportunities in digital information management and BIM services, leading proposal development for major bids, and spearheading innovation and R&D activities to keep AECOM competitively ahead. • Lead definition and implementation of ISO 19650 information management frameworks for major infrastructure programmes. • Interface with senior client stakeholders and digital delivery teams to align strategic objectives. • Establish quality management systems and governance for digital information delivery. • Develop and manage ISO 19650 documentation (EIR, BEP, MIDP, TIDP) and Master Information Delivery Plans. • Configure and maintain Common Data Environment (CDE) systems ensuring compliance and proper information exchange. • Define BIM Execution Plans and coordinate with GIS and BIM specialists to meet EIR requirements. • Implement BIM and digital delivery processes, including 3D/4D/5D integration and data management. • Assess and deploy digital tools supporting Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). • Support verification of BIM/digital capabilities for engineering, consenting, and construction. • Drive integration of CAD‑GIS, immersive visualization, 3D reality capture, VR/AR, and digital twin technologies. • Provide technical support for BIM software, 3D graphics applications, and digital engineering tools. • Establish training programmes and communication materials to ensure consistent delivery standards. • Identify and develop new business opportunities in digital information management and BIM services. • Lead proposal development for digital delivery components of major infrastructure bids. • Drive innovation and R&D initiatives to maintain competitive advantage.

What You Bring
Candidates must have extensive information management experience on major infrastructure programmes, a degree in engineering or a related discipline, proven expertise in ISO 19650 implementation and CDE platforms, and strong knowledge of BIM, GIS integration, 4D/5D methodologies, and data exchange standards such as COBie and IFC. Desirable credentials include chartered status, ISO 19650 Lead Implementer certification, project management qualifications, commercial acumen, business development experience, and exposure to emerging technologies such as AI/ML, VR/AR, and digital twins within the energy sector. The role requires a self‑motivated professional who can work autonomously, demonstrate commitment, embrace learning, and thrive in a deadline‑driven team environment. Employment is conditional on meeting UK security clearance requirements. • Extensive experience managing information on major infrastructure programmes (client‑side and consultant). • Demonstrated expertise in ISO 19650 implementation and CDE platform deployment (e.g., Autodesk ACC, SharePoint). • Strong knowledge of BIM, GIS integration, 4D/5D methodologies, COBie, IFC and data exchange protocols. • Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and engage senior stakeholders. • Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Engineering/Architecture, ISO 19650 Lead Implementer, chartered status, or project management certifications. • Excellent commercial awareness, budget and resource management skills.
