About the Role

The Superintendent role oversees field operations, completion schedules, and labor budget outcomes for construction projects, including any specialty department work. Superintendents direct field personnel and subcontractors, maintain safety, and build effective relationships with project managers, owners, architects, and subcontractors. Superintendents ensure customer satisfaction, provide leadership through team building, communication, motivation, and coaching, and emphasize safety education for all parties. They also contribute to business development by representing the company professionally to clients, architects, engineers, building officials, and inspectors. • Plan and schedule the project, including short‑interval schedules. • Schedule manpower and develop a working budget based on estimates and the project schedule. • Control job progress by managing subcontractors, resolving problems, and applying documentation, quality, and safety controls. • Evaluate labor, material, and equipment costs weekly to adjust for profit while maximizing customer satisfaction. • Ensure customer satisfaction by recognizing and meeting client needs. • Provide leadership through team building, effective communication, motivation, sound judgment, and active listening. • Mentor, coach, and manage Pepper Construction team members. • Promote safety awareness and educate personnel as needed. • Represent and sell the company to clients, architects, engineers, building officials, and inspectors, earning their respect. • Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the company’s quality reputation.
