About the Role

As the Project Manager for Rail Systems, you will lead the successful delivery of contract(s) covering Phase One and 2a works, overseeing procurement, contract award preparation and integration of innovative railway technology into the UK network. You will support senior project managers and heads of delivery, interface with relevant stakeholders, monitor scope and cost changes, and ensure robust reporting to programme forums. You will maintain project plans, identify and mitigate risks, coordinate the integrated HS2 team and agency partners, and manage package contractors to achieve time, budget, scope and quality targets. The role also requires adherence to NEC3 contract duties and alignment with other HS2 and Network Rail projects. • Provide project management support to Rail Systems Senior Project Managers/Heads of Delivery. • Interface with Railway Systems stakeholders as required. • Monitor and manage scope and cost changes, escalating issues appropriately. • Report progress of project deliverables to senior managers and programme forums. • Maintain project plans, identify risks, and implement mitigation actions. • Coordinate integrated HS2 team members, agency staff, and consultants to meet schedules. • Manage package contractors to deliver on time, within budget, scope, and quality. • Integrate the project with other HS2 and Network Rail initiatives. • Undertake duties under an NEC3 contract. • Promote Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in all work. • Influencing and negotiation with internal and external partners.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate possesses APM‑aligned project management knowledge, strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, and the capacity to provide clear direction and negotiate with internal and external partners. A degree or equivalent qualification in project management, engineering or commercial management is required, with knowledge of railway systems or telecommunications considered advantageous. Benefits

The role is based in Birmingham and offers a base salary ranging from £54,878 to £64,562 per annum, dependent on skills and experience. In addition, employees receive a fully pensionable flexible benefits fund of 20 % of salary, together with a range of competitive benefits outlined on the company website. • Base salary £54,878–£64,562 per annum plus a fully pensionable 20 % flexible benefits fund.
