About the Role

The Shop Foreman role supervises employees who repair and maintain rental equipment, coordinating the Service Department’s workload for maximum efficiency and quality. This position advises on technician skill development, upholds Sunbelt’s core values, and ensures seamless customer service across all operations. Key responsibilities include training service technicians on repair best practices and safety, inspecting completed work for quality, and continuously improving processes to reduce turnaround times. The foreperson directs daily activities of technicians and yard staff, schedules equipment service both on‑site and in the workshop, and monitors repair allocations to the appropriate profit centers. Additional duties involve assisting the Profit Center Manager with employee training, work planning, conflict resolution, and any other tasks assigned by management. • Instruct, assist and train service technicians in best practices of equipment repair and safety • Perform inspections of completed repairs to ensure thorough and quality of work performed • Work in cooperation with other areas to provide quality, seamless customer service • Direct service technicians and yard staff in daily operations • Schedule service and maintenance of equipment in the workshop and/or customer job site, coordinating breakdown responses • Monitor all equipment to ensure repairs are properly designated to the correct account • Assist Profit Center Manager in training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; address complaints and resolve conflicts

What You Bring

Ideal candidates hold a trade school or college degree, possess a valid driver’s license, and have prior supervisory experience. They bring at least five years of mechanical experience in the rental or a similar industry, strong customer relations and communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and a proven safety record. Familiarity with the methods, materials, and tools required for equipment repair and maintenance is essential. • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes • Trade school or college degree (bachelor or associate) preferred • Valid driver’s license • Previous supervisory experience • 5+ years of mechanical experience within rental industry or similar • Proven customer relations and communications skills • Basic computer understanding to enter data or information into a terminal or PC • Methods, materials and tools required to repair and maintain rental equipment • Proven safety record
