Help shape the future of Ecology in Queensland. Start the new year strong – join our Queensland Environment team in 2026! We are looking for an experienced Senior or Principal level Ecologist to develop and grow our Ecology practice across Queensland, working with a national team of experts in Terrestrial, Marine, and Aquatic Ecology on diverse projects across the Asia Pacific Region. We require a degree in Environmental Science, Ecology or a related field and at least eight years of ecology experience, preferably in consulting. Candidates must be recognised as a suitably qualified person for protected plant surveys, have strong knowledge of Queensland environmental legislation, experience with EPBC assessment and referral, and be skilled in flora and fauna identification and survey methods. Proven leadership in project and team management, excellent communication, collaboration, and commercial acumen are also essential. The position includes both office and field work, and you must be physically capable of working in remote areas for extended periods. • Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field. • Minimum 8 years of ecology experience, preferably consulting. • Recognised as a suitably qualified person for protected plant surveys. • Strong knowledge of Queensland environmental legislation and standards. • Experience with EPBC assessment and referral. • Proficiency in flora and fauna identification and survey methodologies. • Proven leadership in project and team management. • Excellent communication, collaboration, and commercial acumen. • Ability to work in remote field locations for extended periods.
