About the Role

• Perform startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and aftermarket service for residential, ducted, air‑cooled, water‑cooled chillers, AHUs, and rooftop units. • Diagnose and repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and screw chiller components. • Provide recommendations, upselling opportunities, and detailed quotes to improve facility efficiency. • Deliver written service reports communicating problems, causes, and corrective actions to customers. • Travel 10–20% to support branch customers during installations and service calls. • Participate in Johnson Controls’ Service Plus Rewards and incentive programs. • Collaborate with local market mechanics and team members across the North America branch.

What You Bring

Technicians will be certified through the Service Technical Academy, receive tools, uniforms, a company vehicle, and access to incentive programs and a strong safety focus. They will act as trusted advisors, delivering high‑level service, commissioning, troubleshooting, and recommending efficiency improvements, including upselling and quoting. Candidates must be members (or willing to join) the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry, have at least three years of hands‑on experience with residential or ducted HVAC products, air‑cooled or water‑cooled chillers, AHUs, or rooftop units, and be able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and screw chillers. Travel of 10‑20% may be required, and a knowledge exam must be passed. The role requires strong mechanical troubleshooting, attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication, the ability to produce quotes and service reports, a self‑starting attitude, safety prioritization, a universal EPA refrigerant license, any required state/local licenses, and a valid driver's license. Employees will enroll in training programs, work collaboratively with local mechanics, and participate in the Service Plus Rewards program. • Maintain safety standards, hold a universal EPA refrigerant license, applicable state/local licenses, and a valid driver’s license. • Complete Service Technical Academy certification and ongoing training programs.
