Job Highlights
About the Role
In this role you will travel up to 90% of the time within your assigned market, working from any WM shop nearest your home. Assignments range from one to four weeks, and you will maintain diesel and CNG trucks that serve millions of customers across the United States. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems • Estimate time and material costs for repairs and new parts • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs) and respond to emergency breakdowns • Conduct safety checks on vehicles and complete required documentation • Assist senior mechanics and handle driver vehicle inspection reports • Maintain a clean, OSHA‑compliant work area

What You Bring
• Minimum 6 years diesel/CNG mechanic experience, including waste‑industry background • Ability to travel up to 90% within the market area • Minimum 4 years relevant experience and a valid driver’s license • Must be 18+, legally authorized to work in the U.S., and pass drug screening and physical • Team player who enjoys independent work, variety, and problem solving • Physical ability to lift, push, pull, crouch, climb, stand, walk, and occasionally sit or balance • Exposure to cuts, burns, chemicals, dust, noise, and extreme weather conditions
