About the Role

Key duties include initiating, installing, troubleshooting and optimizing Direct Digital Control systems, mentoring less‑experienced engineers, and serving as the local contact for technical issues. The engineer delivers turnkey projects on medium to large scale, ensures proper operation of controls, sensors and software, loads software, configures trends, alarms and reports, and provides site‑specific training to owners and operators. The Master Field Engineer role is crucial to Carrier’s business through field commissioning of building automation systems tailored to each customer. The position demands strong teamwork, time management, organization, communication, technical and troubleshooting abilities. As a technical and product expert, the engineer will solve complex problems, train junior engineers, and act as a field point of contact. Required qualifications are a High School Diploma or GED, six or more years of experience in building automation, HVAC or a technical field, the ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lb, and a valid, insurable driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s, Associate degree or technical certificate in HVAC, Controls or related area, proficiency with advanced automation software such as WebCTRL, knowledge of TCP/IP and wireless networks, and strong communication skills for non‑technical audiences. Experience with Microsoft 365 and the ability to handle multiple simultaneous challenges are also valued. • Minimum: High School Diploma/GED and 6+ years experience in building automation or HVAC. • Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lb, and hold a valid, insurable driver’s license. • Preferred: Bachelor’s/Associate degree or technical certification in HVAC, Controls, or related field. • Proficiency with WebCTRL, TCP/IP networks, wireless technology, and Microsoft 365. • Strong communication skills to convey technical information to non‑technical audiences.
