About the Role

The Overhead Distribution Lineman C assists the Journeyman Lineman and Foreman while training in the trade, performing work related to constructing and maintaining poles, power lines, auxiliary facilities, and equipment for electricity transmission and distribution. The role supports the Lineman team and collaborates with other department personnel. Hourly pay is $34.00. • Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution power lines. • Connect, disconnect, install, remove, move, and transfer electrical devices such as transformers, regulators, switches, and capacitor banks at customer facilities. • Route or reroute power lines over, under, or around existing structures. • Inspect and remove damaged power lines. • Assist in pole installation, hole digging, and related operations. • Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed. • Investigate consumer complaints and repair energized distribution lines. • Provide backup for Class B Apprentice Lineman and complete related duties. • Submit Apprentice Program documentation in a timely manner. • Troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment. • Operate bucket truck to job sites and maintain truck stock.

What You Bring

This field‑based position demands frequent bending, squatting, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lb), and work in extreme weather conditions. Employees must have clear vision, precise hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to judge distances and colors. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Minimum one year of lineman experience. • Valid Class A CDL required. • Two or more years of lineman experience preferred. • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
