Oversee CEI inspection team, schedules, docs, and client coordination on FDOT projects

About the Role
• Receive assignment instructions and exercise independent judgment. • Prepare daily construction inspection summaries. • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for constructability. • Manage inspectors, coordinate schedules, and oversee records. • Monitor work zone traffic control plans for discrepancies. • Monitor erosion control plans for discrepancies. • Oversee acceptance of project sampling and material testing. • Verify dimensions and calculations of completed work. • Analyze complex construction/design problems and develop improved techniques. • Inform client of project issues and provide recommendations. • Proactively interact with project managers and clients on routine issues. • Maintain construction project records per FDOT procedures. • Interface with project managers, contractors, and inspection staff on plans, activities, and submittals. • Review daily inspection reports and quantity computations. • Track progress and generate final estimates throughout construction. • Measure completed work quantities for payment. • Update resumes to meet company marketing requirements. • Review contractor daily operation records (manpower, equipment, methods, events).

What You Bring
Mott MacDonald is seeking a CEI Project Administrator for our growing CEI team in Florida, preferably in Orlando or Tampa, with FDOT experience preferred. The role involves managing inspection teams, overseeing construction documentation, and ensuring compliance with FDOT procedures while supporting the overall construction project lifecycle. • Minimum 2 years of engineering experience on transportation projects (master’s degree can substitute 1 year). • Minimum 8 years of CEI, roadway, or bridge construction experience, including 2 years on transportation projects. • Obtain FDOT Advanced MOT certification within 6 months. • Obtain CTQP Final Estimates Level II certification within 6 months. • Obtain CTQP Quality Control Manager certification (pass exam) within 6 months.
