HV Assistant Project Manager (Texas)
Assist HV construction/operation, manage subcontractors, schedules, and safety on Texas sites.

About the Role
The Assistant Project Manager supports high‑voltage construction and operations, works full‑time on a Texas jobsite, and requires regular travel. The role involves coordinating project engineers, reviewing contracts and interconnection requirements, managing subcontractors, and maintaining a safe work environment. Key duties include reviewing Power Purchase Agreements, Generator Interconnection Agreements, utility interconnection requirements, system impact studies, and customer/owner engineer specifications for compliance. The incumbent assists in preparing HV budgets and forecasts, develops subcontractor scopes of work, and manages subcontractor billing, RFIs, status reports, risk, and scope changes. They also lead kick‑off meetings, coordinate with utilities, owners, and the SE team, oversee material procurement, and manage construction schedules and final punch‑list completion. • Review PPAs, generator interconnection agreements, utility interconnection requirements, and system impact studies for compliance. • Assist in preparing HV budgets, forecasts, and subcontractor scopes of work. • Manage HV subcontractors, including billing, RFIs, status reports, risk tracking, and scope change management. • Conduct project kick‑off meetings and coordinate with utilities, owners, and SE team. • Oversee material procurement, construction scheduling, and final completion punch list. • Ensure safe work practices in energized substations and compliance with electrical safety manuals. • Travel locally and interstate as required for jobsite duties.

What You Bring
Minimum qualifications include 3‑4 years of experience in substation design or construction, PMP certification or equivalent industry experience, and strong knowledge of electrical equipment installation. Required skills are excellent customer service, problem‑solving, written and verbal communication, organizational abilities, and proficiency with office tools; P6 scheduling experience is preferred. Physical demands involve frequent stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, handling, walking, and lifting 20 lb or more, as well as occasional climbing, working at heights, and exposure to varied environmental conditions. • Demonstrate 3‑4 years of substation design/construction experience; PMP certification or equivalent preferred. • Utilize strong written and verbal communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills; P6 scheduling experience preferred. • Meet physical demands: frequent stooping, lifting ≥20 lb, climbing, working at heights, and exposure to environmental conditions.
