About the Role

• Produce conceptual and detailed design drawings for civil and water infrastructure, including utility modelling, site grading, road and rail corridors, and transit stations. • Oversee or create design work in an integrated 3D environment meeting or exceeding quality standards. • Apply technical knowledge and coordination skills to solve problems on complex multidisciplinary projects. • Act as technical lead for a defined scope of work. • Coordinate with multiple GHD business groups, sub‑consultants, and external agencies. • Contribute to proposal development. • Mentor junior team members and potentially supervise their performance and career development. • Develop 3D models, complete design, produce general arrangement drawings, redline, annotate, and draft. • Design water, sanitary, and storm infrastructure. • Use corridor and pipe network modules in Civil 3D extensively. • Utilize AutoTURN or Autodesk Vehicle Tracking for vehicle movement analysis. • Provide support and training on Civil 3D and BIM standards to junior technicians. • Deliver consistent, high‑quality civil deliverables. • Collaborate with large and small teams, communicating with other disciplines, sub‑consultants, municipalities, utilities, stakeholders, and clients. • Perform geometric design, including alignments, profiles, corridor modeling, and cross‑section development. • Apply geometric design principles such as TAC Guidelines, BC Supplement to TAC, MMCD, and BC Manual of Standard Traffic Signs and Pavement Markings. • Assist in developing specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and tender documents. • Coordinate with the design team to meet schedule and budget while ensuring quality. • Manage multiple tasks with high attention to detail in a demanding consulting environment. • Prioritize and delegate work to meet deadlines while following procedures and best practices.

What You Bring

• Experience delivering designs in conventional and alternative project delivery models (asset). • Bring 10+ years of civil design and modeling experience. • Hold post‑secondary education in Civil Engineering. • Be a Professional Engineer/Technologist registered or eligible for registration in Alberta and/or British Columbia. • Demonstrate a proven record of site grading, servicing, drainage, and access road design using Civil 3D, including preparation of plans, sections, profiles, and detail drawings. • Exhibit outstanding oral and written communication skills and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels. • Possess experience with construction administration and inspection (asset). • Show interest or experience with BIM platforms, design programming, visualizations, and automation (asset).
