About the Role

In this role you will conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning and general servicing of building control systems, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. You will mentor control, service and mechanical technicians, complete project documentation, and act as a trusted advisor providing solutions and outcomes during service visits. You will diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions, develop field proposals for retrofits and upgrades, and support sales with technical recommendations. Managing assigned work, communicating with customers, promoting add‑on services and adhering to safety standards are key components of the position. • Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning and servicing of building control systems. • Ensure high customer satisfaction through on‑site interaction and timely solutions. • Mentor and train control, service and mechanical technicians on automation activities. • Complete accurate project and service documentation, including certificates and punch lists. • Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions across multiple platforms. • Develop and present field proposals for retrofits, upgrades and system enhancements. • Provide technical recommendations to support sales leads. • Manage assigned work to meet schedules and customer expectations. • Communicate with customers before, during and after service visits. • Promote add‑on work and upselling opportunities. • Follow Johnson Controls and customer safety standards; provide safety leadership. • Deliver customer training and supply manuals and documentation. • Conduct self‑study and obtain required product certifications. • Assist in design, configuration and testing of building control systems. • Create flow diagrams, sequences of operation, BOMs, network layouts and schematics. • Compile as‑built and close‑out documentation for projects. • Order, track and coordinate delivery of materials and factory‑mounting processes. • Validate system functionality and troubleshoot with subcontractors. • Provide site‑specific training for owners/operators on total building control systems. • Maintain effective communication and report issues to management promptly.

What You Bring

We seek a dedicated team member with at least four years of commercial controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry, a vocational or associate degree (or equivalent experience), and the ability to install and service electronic control systems. Strong communication, writing, and technical knowledge of control theory, building automation and related subsystems are essential.
