About the Role
The Health Safety and Security Manager will support the Senior Health, Safety and Security Manager and the Head of HSE in ensuring that health, safety, security and management standards are met across development and delivery areas, both by HS2 and its supply chain. The role also involves modelling and embedding the ‘Safe at Heart’ culture throughout the project. Key responsibilities include promoting the ‘Safe at Heart’ way of working, supporting risk‑based operational assurance for health, safety and security, and assisting with compliance to centrally defined occupational health, safety and security policies. What You Bring
The ideal candidate works well in a team, possesses strong analysis, problem‑solving, planning and organising abilities, and is proficient with Microsoft Office. They should have thorough knowledge of health and safety, occupational health, security policies and assurance techniques, as well as experience delivering assurance on large programmes, contributing to investigations, and working within multidisciplinary H&S teams. A professional health and safety qualification or equivalent experience is required. HS2 does not hold a Home Office sponsorship licence; applicants must already have the right to work in the UK, and successful hires will undergo standard pre‑employment checks including right‑to‑work verification, references, DBS, and financial and education checks. • Requires teamwork, strong analysis, problem‑solving, planning, organising, and IT proficiency. • Knowledge of health and safety, occupational health, security policies, and assurance tools. • Experience delivering assurance on large programmes, multidisciplinary H&S teams, and investigations. • Professional health and safety qualification or equivalent experience required. • Must have right to work in the UK; HS2 cannot sponsor visas. • Subject to pre‑employment checks (right‑to‑work, references, DBS, financial and education checks).

Benefits
The base salary for the Health Safety and Security Manager role ranges from £44,380 to approximately £52,212 per annum, depending on skills and experience. In addition, a flexible benefits fund equal to 15 % of salary is paid on top of the base and is fully pensionable, complemented by a range of competitive benefits listed on the company website.
