About the Role
In this position you will manage and deliver NEPA documents for highway, bridge, and rail projects in Illinois, serve as the environmental lead on moderate‑sized projects, and act as a discipline lead on more complex initiatives. You will provide technical guidance to team members, implement the company’s QA/QC system, coordinate with public involvement and engineering disciplines, and actively participate in public meetings and presentations. Supporting business development activities such as project pursuits and preparation of letters of interest is also part of the role. • Lead and deliver NEPA documents for Illinois highway, bridge, and rail projects • Serve as environmental lead on moderate‑sized projects and discipline lead on complex projects • Provide technical guidance and QA/QC reviews to project team members • Coordinate with public involvement, roadway, bridge, drainage, and construction disciplines • Participate in public meetings, presentations, and stakeholder engagements • Support business development by contributing to project pursuits and letters of interest

What You Bring
Parsons is seeking a highly talented Project Manager with technical expertise in the NEPA process and, preferably, experience in the highway/bridge sector, especially on Illinois DOT projects. The role requires strong organizational skills, a collaborative team mindset, and the ability to lead and deliver environmental tasks and projects. Candidates should hold a 4‑year degree in engineering, planning, environmental science, or a related field and have at least ten years of relevant experience, preferably with Illinois DOT projects. Professional certifications like PE or AICP are desirable but not required, and strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Prior consulting experience is a plus, and no security clearance is required. • 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably with Illinois DOT projects • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, environmental science, or related field • Professional certifications (PE, AICP) desirable but not required • Excellent written and oral communication skills
