About the Role
The Sr. Buyer role at Rolls‑Royce combines project management with traditional buying responsibilities, leading cross‑functional initiatives within the procurement organization in an international setting. • Manage projects from order to close‑out, defining scope, schedule, risk, and commercial parameters. • Lead cross‑functional project teams and resolve issues or conflicts within the team. • Prepare and deliver project progress reports to executive management. • Develop, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to meet cost, availability, and inventory goals. • Negotiate pricing, terms, and annual contracts; analyze supplier cost data and benchmark competition. • Troubleshoot recurring quality problems with suppliers and drive continuous improvement. • Organize product teams for problem‑solving and maintain supplier quality and delivery through ongoing monitoring. • Review MRP data to procure components and ensure timely delivery for production lines. • Provide supplier delivery and open‑order data to engineering, sales, and production for cost‑effective material utilization. • Maintain part and PO data integrity and resolve pricing, invoicing, and contract issues with suppliers. • Communicate with order management, sales, engineering, production, accounting, and quality on part‑related matters. • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support efficient production while achieving cost‑saving goals. • Promote compliance with the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct and undertake special projects as required.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Materials Management, Business Finance, or related field, plus 5 years of relevant experience (or 9 years without degree). • US citizen or permanent resident status. • Strong negotiation, purchasing, financial analysis, and complex problem‑solving skills. • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, and communication abilities. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents. • Self‑starter capable of independent work with minimal direction. • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on a limited basis. • Knowledge of production planning, supply chain, and materials management processes. • Proficiency with PC, MS Office Suite, SAP; specific knowledge of off‑highway diesel engine commodities. • Engineering or technical degree and German language skills are a plus.
