About the Role

The Senior BIM Technician will set up, draft, convert, produce, and edit MEP plans using AutoCAD and Revit, requiring excellent organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to prioritize multiple project deadlines. Additional duties include managing project file structures, coordinating CAD/BIM efforts, attending kickoff meetings, supervising and mentoring technicians, evaluating workflow efficiency, ensuring projects meet goals and standards, troubleshooting issues, running clash checks, and providing training on documentation and standards. • Set up, draft, convert, produce, and edit MEP plans using AutoCAD and Revit. • Manage project file locations, filenames, layers, and symbology per SH Group standards. • Coordinate CAD/BIM efforts and assist the design team throughout project phases. • Mentor and supervise junior CAD/BIM technicians in creating floor plans, diagrams, and panel schedules. • Evaluate workflow and recommend improvements to CAD/BIM processes. • Perform clash and coordination checks to ensure design integrity. • Ensure compliance with documentation and NCT standards; provide workflow training. • Interpret redline drawings, floor plans, sections, and elevations. • Prioritize tasks and communicate effectively to meet project deadlines.

What You Bring

Ideal candidates possess at least eight years of CAD/BIM experience with an AEC firm (or 3‑4 years with an MEP firm), advanced proficiency in the latest versions of Revit and AutoCAD, strong skills in reading redline drawings, floor plans, sections, and elevations, and familiarity with National CAD/BIM standards. A high school diploma or trade school training is required, along with experience in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing trades, proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to work necessary hours to meet deadlines. • Demonstrate 8+ years of CAD/BIM experience in an AEC or MEP firm with advanced Revit/AutoCAD skills. • Possess knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing trade systems and proficiency in MS Office.
