About the Role
The QA/QC Manager supports all site quality assurance and control activities, acting as a technical specialist in one or more disciplines. This role defines inspection processes, certifies inspectors, and manages the inspection staff, typically holding an Inspector Level II or III certification. Key duties include assigning staff for inspections and audits, overseeing project‑specific quality documentation, and ensuring records are legible, complete, and traceable. The manager develops and implements QA/QC programs, directs qualified personnel, reviews test controls and results, performs vendor inspections, and conducts internal and subcontractor audits to maintain compliance. Additional responsibilities involve documenting non‑conformances, providing coaching and performance appraisals, facilitating training, leading staff meetings, and collaborating with HR on employment‑law compliance. • Assign QA/QC staff for inspections, audits, and testing activities. • Oversee creation, assembly, and maintenance of project quality documentation. • Verify that all records meet legibility, completeness, traceability, and acceptance standards. • Define inspection processes and certify co‑workers to perform inspections. • Develop and implement QA/QC programs, manuals, standards, procedures, and training modules. • Direct qualified inspection and test personnel to execute quality‑related tasks. • Review and approve test controls, test results, vendor inspections, and witness tests. • Conduct internal, supplier, and subcontractor audits to ensure contract compliance. • Identify violations, institute corrective actions, and document non‑conformances. • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance appraisals to direct reports. • Facilitate short‑ and long‑term goal setting aligned with department and company strategy. • Ensure staff receive appropriate training for remediation, maintenance, or promotion. • Lead department staff meetings and contribute to policy and procedure development. • Collaborate with HR to maintain compliance with employment and labor laws.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or construction‑related fields and have at least six years of relevant experience. Required knowledge includes construction practices, quality assurance—preferably in the nuclear power sector—quality codes and NRC regulations, and proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint/FileNet, and Blue Beam. Successful candidates demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to interpret technical regulations, write clear reports, and present information effectively. They are proficient with spreadsheets, possess solid mathematical reasoning, can lead and evaluate teams, work collaboratively, and apply assertive, problem‑solving approaches. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or construction‑related discipline. • Minimum six years of related experience, including construction and QA expertise. • Experience with nuclear power industry QA/QC and familiarity with NRC regulations. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint/FileNet, and Blue Beam. • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, codes, and regulations. • Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural documents. • Effective presentation and public speaking abilities. • Competent in customizing and modifying spreadsheets and applying mathematical concepts. • Strong leadership, teamwork, and assertive communication skills.
