Job Highlights
What You Bring
Technicians at Republic Services maintain the performance and quality of the company’s fleet by performing routine and preventive maintenance on both diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. The role requires logical problem‑solving skills, enthusiasm for vehicle engineering, and a commitment to continual learning while upholding the company’s values. During the apprenticeship, participants gain hands‑on experience in electrical diagnosis, air‑conditioning and heating systems, wheel‑end assemblies, air and brake systems, hydraulics, and overall truck preventative maintenance. A dedicated mentor and direct supervision from a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor ensure that apprentices apply classroom learning to real‑world tasks such as tire work, hydraulic and electrical system repairs. Applicants must commit to completing the two‑year program, be logical problem‑solvers with an interest in engineering, and be able to work flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends or holidays. Candidates must travel to and reside in Dallas for the initial training, and be willing to relocate to the assigned location after graduation. Hourly pay is $16.00 during the Dallas training and $22.40 during on‑the‑job training.
