About the Role

In this role you will develop and design control software packages using PLCs and HMIs, interpret customer‑supplied specifications, and ensure equipment operates according to approved requirements. You will also program robotic and control equipment, perform preventative maintenance, review designs for functionality, and generate timely service documentation. Providing technical support and training to end‑users on‑site, as well as adhering to safe work practices, are key components of the position. • Develop and design PLC/HMI control software packages. • Interpret customer specifications to ensure equipment meets required functionality. • Commission and start up equipment according to approved specifications. • Program robotic and control equipment per client requirements. • Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. • Review designs for functional correctness for self and peers. • Create timely service documentation for all tasks. • Provide on-site technical support and training to end-users. • Travel up to 25 % to customer sites and JR locations. • Apply strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

What You Bring

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or a technical diploma with relevant study, though a degree is preferred. Required knowledge includes electrical circuits, panel, pneumatic and hydraulic design, PLC and HMI programming, robot programming, VFDs, servo applications, and device communication networks such as DNET, ENET, and Profibus. Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to interact professionally with customers under pressure are essential. Travel up to 25 % to customer sites and other JR locations may be required, and prior experience in automation or with JR Automation is strongly preferred. All candidates must successfully complete a 10‑panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check.
