About the Role
The Maintenance Assistant supports resident satisfaction by ensuring smooth move‑ins and prompt service, acting as a key point of contact for resident requests, and upholding Cush‑Wakefield’s commitment to superior customer service. Daily tasks involve preparing apartments for occupancy—painting, carpet repair, cleaning and minor repairs—maintaining common‑area amenities such as pools, hot tubs and dog parks, and performing scheduled maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry issues while adhering to fair‑housing regulations. • Prepare move‑in ready apartments (paint, carpet repair, cleaning, minor repairs) • Respond promptly to resident service requests with professionalism • Perform routine maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry systems • Maintain cleanliness and safety of grounds, pools, hot tubs, common areas, and dog park • Report maintenance issues in vacant units and common areas to supervisor • Follow state, local, and federal fair‑housing laws • Attend required training and uphold company appearance standards

What You Bring
The role requires strong reading and reporting abilities, practical problem‑solving skills, a valid driver’s license, and a solid grasp of basic math and safety procedures; the assistant must also follow company appearance standards and protect all tools and equipment. Candidates must hold a high school diploma, GED or equivalent technical training, possess related maintenance experience, and have an EPA‑608 Type II, CPO, or comparable local certification. • Read manuals, write reports, and apply common‑sense problem solving • Hold a valid driver’s license and adhere to safety policies • Possess a high school diploma/GED, related experience, and EPA‑608 Type II or equivalent certification
