About the Role

The role oversees the entire lifecycle of assigned projects, ensuring that design, construction, and close‑out activities align with district standards, budgets and schedules while maintaining effective communication with contractors, architects, engineers and public agencies. • Manage all phases of assigned projects from pre‑construction through close‑out. • Review pre‑construction documents and provide comments to designers. • Prepare status reports for senior management. • Coordinate with public agencies and district staff to ensure compliance during pre‑construction and construction. • Control project budget and schedule, monitoring monthly financial performance. • Supervise daily contractor activities, review schedules and submittals, and address RFIs. • Evaluate contractor substitution submittals for compliance with specifications. • Negotiate and approve contractor change‑order proposals, assessing cost and schedule impacts. • Process payments for contractors, architects, engineers, and other parties. • Administer professional service agreements between architects and the district. • Coordinate delivery of fixtures, furniture, and equipment. • Oversee project close‑out, including DSA certification and financial reconciliation.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least ten years of professional construction or project‑management experience, with three years leading complex projects exceeding $10 M, and possess relevant certifications such as a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or state architect/engineer registration. Preferred experience includes design‑build delivery, Building Information Modeling (BIM), LEED or CHPS projects, DSA processes, and OSHA 30 safety training. • Minimum 10 years full‑time construction or project management experience, including 3 years leading projects > $10 M. • Preferred design‑build, BIM, LEED/CHPS, DSA processes, and OSHA 30 safety training. • Education: bachelor’s in architecture, engineering, or construction management, or ability to obtain CCM credential within 1 year, or hold a CCM certification. • Preferred licenses: California architect or professional engineer registration; CCM credential.
