About the Role
The Operator – Heavy Equipment is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station to transfer, spread, cover, load, and compact waste or soil efficiently. The role emphasizes safety and efficiency in handling a variety of materials. Daily duties include conducting pre‑ and post‑operation equipment inspections, operating machinery such as forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, and front‑end loaders, and continuously monitoring waste for unacceptable materials. The operator performs minor servicing, documents equipment condition, reports needed repairs, follows all safety policies, and ensures the shop is clean and organized at the end of each shift.
