About the Role

This is a 100% travel position in which the technician installs, maintains, and operates wired, wireless, fiber-optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. The role requires adherence to MasTec’s health, safety, and environmental policies as well as industry standards such as OSHA, TIA-10-48, NATE CTS, and ANSI. Duties include climbing towers, erecting various tower types, off-loading material, preparing sites, installing carriers, assisting with helicopter-, crane-, and gin-pole-based tower erection, assembling monopoles and other tower structures, mounting antennas, running transmission lines, and completing foundation, grounding, and conduit work. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber-optic, and microwave telecom equipment. • Follow MasTec health, safety, and environmental policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA-10-48, NATE CTS, ANSI). • Climb towers and ladders to perform erection, reinforcement, and hardware replacement tasks. • Off-load material, prepare sites, and install new carriers on both new-build and existing towers. • Assist tower erection using helicopters, cranes, gin poles, and assemble monopole and guyed tower structures. • Mount microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas. • Install transmission lines, including coaxial, hardline, and waveguide systems. • Complete foundation, grounding, conduit, and electrical installations. • Mentor less-experienced technicians and perform other assigned duties. • Conduct bracing swaps, gusset plate replacements, anchor rod upgrades, and elevated welding as needed.

What You Bring

Successful candidates are safety-oriented, produce high-quality work, and enjoy hands-on problem solving on long-term projects. Requirements include a high-school diploma, at least four years of tower experience, the ability to read and follow printed instructions, knowledge of safety regulations, a PWSA certification (preferred), physical ability to climb towers, lift 50 lb, and work up to 12 hours, as well as a valid driver’s license meeting company policy. • Demonstrate strong safety focus and consistent high-quality workmanship. • Minimum four years tower experience with a high school diploma or equivalent. • Ability to read and interpret technical prints and follow instructions. • Knowledge of safety standards; PWSA certification is a plus. • Physically able to climb towers, lift 50 lb, and work up to 12 hours per shift. • Hold a valid driver’s license meeting company policy requirements.
