About the Role

The role promotes and complies with all company safety policies while ensuring the quality of work on large‑scale wind, solar, and industrial projects, including roads, environmental SWPPP, excavations, concrete, rebar, substations, transmission lines, solar racking, PV installation, underground utilities, wind turbine installation, steel erection, welding, piping, valves, pumps, compressors and other mechanical and electrical equipment. The inspector plans and conducts daily activities in an organized manner, records QC/QA data, monitors work scope, prevents and addresses deficiencies, and maintains open communication with field supervision and quality staff. The inspector maintains complete and accurate inspection records, establishes punch lists, determines calibration status of measuring and test equipment, ensures daily task schedules align with project timelines, and interacts cross‑functionally with craft personnel while maintaining a professional appearance. Other duties may be assigned as needed. • Promote and adhere to all company safety policies. • Inspect quality of work across large‑scale wind, solar, and industrial projects. • Plan and conduct daily QC/QA activities, accurately recording data. • Monitor work scope, report progress, and prevent deficiencies through pre‑construction inspections. • Detect, document, and address deficiencies promptly. • Act as field representative for quality staff, ensuring QA/QC requirements are followed. • Maintain open communication with field supervision and subcontractors regarding schedule and performance. • Keep complete, accurate inspection records and generate punch lists. • Determine calibration status of measuring and test equipment. • Ensure daily task schedules align with project timelines. • Interact cross‑functionally with craft personnel while maintaining professional appearance. • Read and interpret blueprints and technical procedures. • Write daily reports and document project activities. • Collect and record field data to ensure compliance with quality control procedures. • Implement quality control program for assigned tasks.

What You Bring

Under general supervision, the Quality Inspector applies skills and knowledge to determine the degree of conformance of materials, equipment, and installations to Wanzek or client specifications. They perform inspections of various project activities, generate reports of conditions found, notify management of significant problems, and complete documentation attesting to satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities. A minimum of an associate degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with 1‑3 years of construction experience is required; inspection certifications such as NDE are preferred. Candidates must commit to personal and team safety, work independently, be organized, possess strong interpersonal skills, read and interpret blueprints, write daily reports, collect and record field data, and implement the quality control program. Preferred skills include basic algebra, geometry, and the ability to calculate area, circumference, and volume. • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field (or high school diploma/GED with 1‑3 years experience). • Inspection certifications (e.g., NDE) preferred. • Work independently as a self‑starter, organized, with strong interpersonal skills. • Basic math skills: calculate area, circumference, volume; apply algebra and geometry. • Problem‑solve individually and in team settings.
