About the Role

• Operate the hard‑rock double‑shield TBM while prioritizing safety and accurate reporting. • Maintain tunnel line and grade during TBM operation and steering. • Assist the mechanical & electrical team with TBM assembly, disassembly and maintenance. • Use the TBM’s advanced computer systems and perform electronic shift reporting. • Provide mechanical assistance during breakdowns and perform general tunnelling duties. • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, adaptability and care. • Ensure safety, sustainability and compliance with project standards. • Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and suggest technical improvements. • Maintain strong awareness of surrounding activities to react quickly to unexpected events.

What You Bring

ACCIONA is hiring an experienced Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) pilot for the Alkimos project. The pilot will operate a hard‑rock double‑shield TBM, maintain tunnel alignment, and collaborate with the mechanical and electrical team on assembly, disassembly and maintenance tasks. The role also involves using advanced onboard computer systems, reporting electronically, and supporting general tunnelling activities. • Apply knowledge of VMT guidance and annular grouting systems. • Hold a General Construction Induction (White Card) – essential. • Minimum 5 years TBM operating experience, specifically hard‑rock double‑shield machines. • Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors and subcontractors. • Demonstrate high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
