About the Role
The manager will use client relationships to achieve business‑development targets and build a local team to meet client needs. They will lead design tasks and multidisciplinary teams through all project phases, from preliminary design to final documentation, cost estimates, and specifications. Technical issues will be addressed with proposed solutions, and decisions will follow WSP’s ethical and quality‑control standards. Collaboration with specialists such as drainage and structures engineers is also required. • Leverage client relationships to meet WSP’s business development objectives • Build and lead a local engineering team to support transportation projects in southern Illinois and St. Louis • Direct design tasks and multidisciplinary teams from preliminary design through contract documentation, including cost estimates and specifications • Identify and propose technical solutions to design challenges • Apply ethical decision‑making and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and quality‑control procedures • Collaborate with specialists in drainage, structures, and other disciplines as needed

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field and have at least ten years of transportation engineering experience. A Professional Engineer license in Illinois is required, with Missouri licensure preferred, and hands‑on experience in OpenRoads Designer. Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office are essential, as is the ability to follow WSP’s quality‑control procedures. A master’s degree, experience managing small‑ to mid‑size projects, and leadership experience with IDOT or other local agencies are preferred. Business‑development experience, as well as a track record of leading and mentoring teams, will be valued. The ability to work in the United States immediately and occasional travel for project needs are required. • Hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field) with 10+ years of transportation engineering experience • Possess a Professional Engineer license in Illinois (Missouri preferred) and proficiency in OpenRoads Designer and Microsoft Office • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills • Preferred: Master’s degree, experience managing small‑to‑mid‑size projects, leadership with IDOT or local agencies, business development expertise, and team mentoring experience

Benefits
The position offers a salary range of $121,100‑$205,900 plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement savings, and paid leave for vacation, sick time, parental, bereavement, voting, and naturalization.
