About the Role
The Technical Professional, reporting under general supervision, is responsible for all conventional aspects of mechanical handling activities. This role involves planning, scheduling, and executing work that requires independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. The incumbent also provides technical guidance to designers and less‑experienced engineers, influencing cost containment, efficiency, and overall profitability. Key equipment expertise includes mechanical handling equipment, deck cranes, static and rotating equipment, and package/skid items. The professional is also responsible for controlling project‑budgeted hours and resources, ensuring efficient and cost‑effective handling procedures. • Plan, schedule, and execute mechanical handling activities using engineering judgment. • Provide technical guidance to designers and junior engineers. • Prepare mechanical handling study reports and deliver presentations during model review sessions. • Review package drawings and assess handling aspects for equipment and packages. • Recommend cost‑effective and efficient handling procedures. • Utilize 3D review software such as S3D, Aveva, and NAVIS Simulate. • Coordinate with stakeholders and 3D designers to implement handling requirements. • Manage project‑budgeted hours and resources. • Travel globally for short‑term assignments supporting project sites.

What You Bring
Travel flexibility is essential, as the position may require global short‑term assignments to KBR offices, client locations, or project sites to support ongoing projects. Candidates should hold a degree in Mechanical or an allied engineering discipline and possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience, typically ranging from seven to ten years. Required experience includes handling concepts for equipment and packages in FPSO/offshore facilities, and a solid understanding of various handling equipment, their capabilities, and inter‑disciplinary problem solving. The role demands proficiency in reviewing package drawings, preparing mechanical handling study reports, and delivering presentations during model review sessions. Candidates must be adept with 3D review software such as S3D, Aveva, and NAVIS Simulate, and be capable of interfacing with stakeholders and 3D designers to implement handling requirements. • Hold a Mechanical or allied engineering degree with at least five years of relevant experience (typically 7‑10 years). • Demonstrate knowledge of handling equipment, deck cranes, static and rotating equipment, and package/skid items. • Exhibit strong problem‑solving, presentation, and communication skills.
