About the Role
The Intern will assist with safety and loss‑control activities on construction sites or office locations, working under the direction of a supervisor. Core responsibilities include supporting the Building L.I.F.E. safety program, reporting hazards, coordinating safety committees, and maintaining safety documentation. The role provides exposure to construction‑management safety practices. • Implement Building L.I.F.E. and project safety program under supervision. • Identify and report safety violations, especially imminent dangers. • Coordinate safety committee duties, pre‑planning, and toolbox meetings. • Support training at safety meetings, toolbox sessions, and orientations. • Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with company policies. • Promote safe work practices in line with regulations and contractual requirements. • Administer drug‑screening program according to company and client guidelines. • Participate in preconstruction meetings, conduct research, and document outcomes. • Conduct jobsite inspections and develop inspection summaries. • Maintain safety records, including pre‑task plans, JHAs, training logs, OSHA 300, MSDS, and incident reports. • Deliver worker orientation for new employees and record participation.

What You Bring
Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related degree program and have completed at least one year of coursework, or possess an equivalent mix of education and experience. Required competencies include basic safety knowledge, strong communication, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and data‑entry tools. Interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently or in a team are also essential. The position demands physical abilities such as climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 25 lb occasionally, and performing tasks in varied construction environments with noise, fumes, and weather exposure.
