About the Role
The Production Manager role in the Wheatland Tube division is tasked with driving manufacturing excellence by supervising daily production activities and meeting safety, quality, and efficiency standards. The position suits professionals who thrive in a fast‑paced industrial setting, demonstrate strong leadership of front‑line teams, and focus on continuous improvement and operational safety. The role follows a Monday‑Friday schedule with occasional weekend work, on either the day shift (6 am‑4 pm) or the off‑shift (5 pm‑3 am). Key duties include overseeing safety compliance and personal‑protective‑equipment use, promoting a safety‑first culture through observations and coaching, and ensuring product quality through rigorous inspections. The manager also troubleshoots equipment and operational issues to maximize uptime, leads training programs to develop front‑line leaders, and directs the hourly workforce to meet production targets while handling discipline as needed. Staffing responsibilities cover daily workforce allocation, reassignments, transfers, overtime coverage, and accurate payroll and production system transactions. The manager reviews operational reports each day, communicates issues to senior management to avoid delays, and participates in continuous‑improvement and yield‑enhancement projects. • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. • Promote safety awareness through active observations, coaching, and team engagement. • Verify product quality by conducting rigorous inspections against customer and internal standards. • Troubleshoot operational and equipment issues to improve efficiency and machine uptime. • Facilitate training programs and develop front‑line leaders using established curricula. • Direct the hourly workforce to achieve production goals and administer discipline when necessary. • Manage daily staffing—including reassignments, transfers, and overtime coverage. • Review and communicate daily operational reports to prevent production delays. • Participate in continuous‑improvement and yield‑enhancement initiatives. • Accurately perform payroll and production system transactions.

What You Bring
Successful candidates have experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment—preferably with prior leadership or supervisory roles—strong decision‑making, analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. They must be able to lead and promote health‑and‑safety practices in line with regulatory and company policies, and be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR responder training. Physical requirements include the ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crawl, push, pull, lift, climb and stand or walk for extended periods, as dictated by the role. • Industrial or manufacturing experience, preferably with supervisory or managerial responsibilities. • Strong leadership, teamwork, and cross‑department coordination skills. • Sound decision‑making, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. • Demonstrated ability to lead health and safety practices in compliance with regulations. • Willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR responder certification. • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crawl, push, pull, lift, climb, and stand or walk for extended periods.
