About the Role

The AFHE Maintenance Technician will work on‑site to maintain, modify and install Automated Fueling System Equipment (AFHE) at customer locations worldwide. This role directly supports global readiness and sustainment of the United States military, with a travel requirement of approximately 60 % and no option for remote work. • Direct and allocate time and resources to meet demanding schedules and quality standards. • Maintain and track all maintenance documentation and deliverables for timely review. • Organize, schedule, and execute high‑quality work at customer sites. • Build and sustain positive relationships with site personnel and stakeholders. • Install PLC panels, variable frequency drives, control wiring, sensors, limit switches, encoders and HMI screens. • Troubleshoot PLC logic, relays, sensors, I/O modules, motor controls and network communication faults. • Program and modify PLC ladder logic, function blocks, structured text, VFD parameters and HMI graphics. • Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 40 lb, climbing to heights of 20 ft, kneeling and bending as required. • Travel up to 60 % of the time to support multiple project locations. • Ensure compliance with NEC code, NFPA 70E and applicable safety regulations. • Diagnose and repair three‑phase and single‑phase AC circuits and low‑voltage DC control circuits. • Maintain industrial Ethernet and fiber‑optic networks and related communication protocols. • Utilize hand tools, multimeters, process calibrators and instrumentation for accurate measurements. • Read and interpret control schematics, wiring diagrams, design drawings and P&IDs.

What You Bring

Success in this position requires effective time and resource management, rigorous documentation, coordination with customer sites, and strong stakeholder engagement. The technician will install and program industrial control systems, troubleshoot automation equipment, and adapt control logic to meet project objectives while complying with KBR and stakeholder quality standards. Candidates must be U.S. citizens able to pass a NACLC security background check, possess advanced electrical knowledge, and be proficient in troubleshooting three‑phase AC, low‑voltage DC circuits, and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and Ethernet/IP. Experience with PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron), reading schematics, and using diagnostic tools is essential, along with familiarity with NEC code, NFPA 70E, pneumatics and hydraulics. • Apply computer and Microsoft Windows proficiency for documentation and system configuration. • Possess a current government CAC and an active or prior security clearance. • Demonstrate experience with SCADA systems.
