About the Role

You will drive full‑cycle recruiting, proactively source and engage top engineers—including passive candidates—partner with hiring managers to define roles and design fair interview processes, and sell Base’s unique mission and technical challenges to win talent. Additionally, you will streamline the recruiting workflow for speed and quality, champion a positive candidate experience, and build recruiting playbooks, metrics, and best‑practice frameworks to scale the hiring engine. To succeed you will act with urgency, identify excellence early, avoid low‑performing hires, leverage referrals, and actively pursue passive talent through outbound strategies. Emphasizing talent density over headcount and protecting the team’s time by quickly filtering poor fits are key to maintaining high revenue per employee. • Drive end‑to‑end software hiring for 40+ roles annually. • Build pipelines and engage passive engineering talent. • Partner with technical leaders to define roles and interview processes. • Continuously improve recruiting speed, consistency, and quality. • Ensure a positive candidate experience for all applicants. • Develop recruiting playbooks, metrics, and best‑practice frameworks. • Maintain urgency in follow‑ups and prioritize high‑potential candidates. • Utilize referrals and outbound strategies to tap hidden talent pools.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate brings at least four years of technical recruiting experience with a proven track record of hiring top‑tier engineers in fast‑growing, hardware‑driven companies. Success in recruiting software, firmware, and related technical talent, strong technical acumen to understand complex roles, and excellent interpersonal skills to build trust with candidates and hiring teams are essential. A hands‑on, resourceful mindset and ambition to grow into a leadership role are also required. Preferred skills include experience building recruiting functions or playbooks from scratch, comfort with recruiting metrics, data‑driven decision‑making, and ATS tools, as well as a personal passion for energy, hardware, or climate technology. Bonus points are given for prior experience as a software engineer or hands‑on coding knowledge. • Articulate Base’s mission and culture to attract top engineers. • Leverage 4+ years of technical recruiting experience in fast‑paced, hardware‑driven startups. • Demonstrate strong technical acumen to evaluate complex engineering roles. • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and build trust with stakeholders. • Use data‑driven recruiting decisions and proficiently operate ATS tools. • Show passion for energy, hardware, or climate technology.
