About the Role

In this role you will define and drive a cohesive design vision, leveraging emerging and established technologies to solve complex customer problems and influence outcomes across a broad product ecosystem. Strong cross‑functional partnership and leadership alignment are essential to raise the bar for product experience quality across everything delivered to customers. • Apply deep product, platform, user‑centered design, and AEC industry expertise to influence strategy, anticipate needs, and identify AI/XR opportunities. • Create design vision artifacts such as prototypes, diagrams, concepts, and visual frameworks to inspire teams and drive alignment. • Translate complex user needs and business priorities into clear, actionable experience direction and system frameworks. • Communicate design vision and strategy through storytelling, presentations, and discussions to build trust across cross‑functional audiences. • Introduce new design practices, explore emerging frameworks, and help teams improve the pace, quality, and ambition of outcomes. • Partner with designers, researchers, product managers, and engineering leaders across time zones to guide feasible end‑to‑end experiences. • Design SaaS products across multiple device types and software platforms.

The Construction Field Delivery team aims to transform project delivery through an intuitive, scalable, AI‑driven productivity platform accessible on mobile, web, and IoT. We are looking for a Senior Principal Designer to shape the next generation of construction user experiences in Autodesk Construction Cloud, reporting to the Head of UX for Field Delivery and Data Management. Preference is given to candidates in Toronto, but we consider candidates across Canada; applicants must include a portfolio with access/password on their resume. Candidates must have at least 12 years of professional UX design experience, including SaaS product design across multiple devices, and demonstrate strong communication, facilitation, and storytelling abilities. Proficiency with tools such as Figma and AI‑enabled prototyping, and an online portfolio showing impact, are required. Preferred candidates show a passion for mentoring other designers and have experience leading design vision that incorporates innovative technologies such as agentic experiences, smart devices, or intelligent systems. • 12+ years of professional UX design experience as an individual contributor or design leader. • Strong communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills with ability to influence UX, Product Management, Engineering, and Analytics. • Proficiency with industry‑standard tools such as Figma and AI‑enabled prototyping tools. • Demonstrated interest in mentoring and supporting the growth of other designers. • Experience driving design vision involving innovative technologies like agentic experiences, smart devices, or intelligent systems.
