Job Highlights
About the Role
The designer will create detailed high‑voltage substation (Air & GIS) physical design packages, including single‑line diagrams, layouts, calculations, cable selections, ground grids, lighting, and bill of materials. They will also develop protection and control design packages with single‑line, three‑line, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts, while coordinating with engineers, designers, drafters, and project managers to deliver projects on time. • Design detailed high‑voltage substation (Air & GIS) physical packages, including diagrams, layouts, calculations, and bill of materials. • Create protection and control design packages with single‑line, three‑line, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts. • Collaborate with engineers, designers, drafters, and project managers to exceed client expectations.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in drafting or electrical design and have at least three years of experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil3D, or AutoCAD Map3D in power delivery or renewable energy projects. Strong CAD skills, proficiency in MS Office, excellent communication, time‑management abilities, and the right to work in the U.S. or Canada are required. Experience with 3D modeling, PVcase/PVCAD, utility‑scale wind and solar, battery storage, industry codes, or manufacturer products is a plus. • Minimum diploma or bachelor’s in drafting/electrical design; 3+ years of experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil3D, or AutoCAD Map3D. • Strong CAD proficiency using layers, blocks, XREFs, annotations, and dimensioning per industry standards. • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and possess excellent communication and time‑management skills. • Experience with 3D modeling, PVcase/PVCAD, renewable‑energy systems, battery storage, and relevant industry codes is a plus.
