About the Role
• Lead the highway engineering discipline, overseeing tasks and ensuring quality across multiple projects. • Manage project schedules, budgets and resources to meet client expectations and internal goals. • Monitor labor budgets and task progress for efficient, timely execution. • Support marketing and business development through proposal creation and client presentations. • Build and maintain strong client relationships with responsive communication. • Direct design and development of highway projects using OpenRoads and Civil 3D. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce detailed design documents for all project phases. • Perform and review complex calculations for roadway geometry, grading, drainage and roadside safety. • Mentor junior engineers and design staff, providing technical guidance. • Handle multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards.

What You Bring
Our hybrid work model emphasizes face‑to‑face collaboration, requiring a minimum of three days in the office each week while allowing flexibility to meet client, team and personal commitments. • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field. • Minimum 15 years of highway design experience, including geometry, grading, drainage and traffic engineering. • Experience with maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT) planning and design. • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts and/or Connecticut, or ability to obtain via reciprocity. • Proven track record in project and team management with strong leadership and organizational skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. • Familiarity with Massachusetts and/or Connecticut DOT standards and procedures. • Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads; experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred.
