Cleaner

About the Role

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor, performing a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. Daily responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, and washing interior floors using light and heavy commercial buffers, vacuuming rugs in offices and public areas, spot‑cleaning and shampooing rugs as directed, dusting furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures and other horizontal surfaces, cleaning interior windowsills, glass, doors, and washing interior walls. The Cleaner also maintains bathrooms by restocking supplies, cleaning fixtures and tiles, monitoring for defects such as clogged urinals or lights out, and collects building trash, replaces liners, and ensures proper disposal. The role also involves periodic work such as high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, wall washing, and other assigned duties. When needed, the Cleaner sweeps or shovels snow from steps, walkways, and connecting sidewalks at building entrances. • Sweep, mop, and wash interior floors using commercial floor machines. • Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot‑clean and shampoo rugs as directed. • Clean interior windowsills, glass, doors, and wash interior walls daily. • Maintain bathrooms, restock supplies, and monitor fixtures for defects. • Collect and dispose of building trash, replace liners, and manage recycling. • Remove snow and ice from entrances and walkways as needed. • Perform periodic tasks such as high dusting, leather and wood polishing, and wall washing. • Operate cleaning equipment safely, including backpack vacuums.

What You Bring

No prior cleaning experience is required, but the candidate must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team. Ability to operate cleaning tools and equipment—including backpack vacuums—and a strong attention to detail, high energy, and endurance are essential. • Dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, and light fixtures. • Follow directions, work independently, and collaborate within a team. • Demonstrate attention to detail, high energy, and endurance.

Compensation is competitive, with an hourly rate of $14.00, and may vary based on location, experience, collective bargaining agreements, and other factors, with the company guaranteeing at least minimum wage. • Eligible for health, vision, dental, FSA, HSA, retirement, life and disability insurance, and paid time off. • Earn $14.00 per hour, with competitive pay based on location and experience.
