About the Role
• Lead project execution from design through completion, aligning scope, schedule, and budget. • Prepare proposals, support pursuit presentations, and participate in contract negotiations. • Develop and maintain accurate project financials, including projections, billing, and cost control. • Allocate project estimates into financial systems and manage cost codes and invoicing. • Oversee subcontractor and supplier selection, contract buyouts, and billing processes. • Manage and mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, providing performance feedback. • Serve as primary client and on‑site representative contact, resolving concerns and fostering relationships. • Manage change orders to ensure timely submission and approval. • Ensure compliance with Mortenson’s safety, quality, and risk‑management standards. • Promote an inclusive work environment and uphold Mortenson’s values and ethical standards.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking a seasoned Project Manager II to provide overall leadership and direction for construction projects, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, timeliness, and financial performance. The role requires a proactive, adaptable leader who can mentor teams, manage complex projects, and build strong client relationships through excellent service and communication. Additional notes: postings typically remain open a minimum of five days, the company does not accept unsolicited agency solicitations, and all applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. • Minimum 7 years of construction management experience on large‑scale projects ($20M+). • Demonstrated success managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. • Strong financial acumen with experience in project budgeting and forecasting. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project‑management software. • Knowledge of construction law, business practices, and contract management. • Excellent communication, leadership, and customer‑service skills. • Ability to travel overnight up to 100% and hold a valid driver’s license.

Benefits
The base pay range for this position is $132,100 • $198,200, with higher ranges for offices in Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C.
