About the Role
The Mechanical Fitter role offers a broad scope, covering mechanical fitting, repairs and minor machinery maintenance on a variety of fixed‑plant equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety, operational readiness and preventative maintenance. • Perform mechanical fitting, repairs, and minor machinery maintenance on fixed plant equipment. • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance to keep plant, equipment, and systems within required standards. • Contribute to a safe and compliant work environment, supporting hazard and risk management. • Ensure operational readiness of equipment through responsive maintenance. • Work across diverse fixed plant assets as part of base-specific PAS activities.

What You Bring
We seek candidates with post‑trade experience in mechanical fitting or maintenance, a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, and a proven track record of preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment. Additional requirements include a current open driver’s licence, the ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship), and preferably Confined Space Entry and White Card certifications. A strong work ethic, positive attitude and commitment to high‑quality outcomes are essential. • Post‑trade experience in mechanical fitting or maintenance. • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade. • Demonstrated experience in preventative and corrective maintenance of mechanical plant and equipment. • Current open driver’s licence. • Ability to obtain and retain Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship required). • Confined Space Entry Certification and White Card (desirable). • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to high‑quality outcomes. • Strong internal mobility with 30% of vacancies filled internally.
