About the Role

Key responsibilities include implementing and maintaining cloud security frameworks (NIST 800‑53 Rev.5, FedRAMP, DoD IL2/4/5), configuring IAM and Zero Trust Architecture, conducting vulnerability assessments and incident response, and producing System Security Plans, Security Assessment Reports, and POA&Ms. • Implement NIST 800‑53 Rev.5, FedRAMP, and DoD IL2/4/5 cloud security frameworks. • Configure and manage IAM, RBAC, and Zero Trust Architecture solutions. • Conduct vulnerability assessments, continuous security monitoring, and incident response in cloud environments. • Develop and maintain System Security Plans, Security Assessment Reports, and POA&Ms.

What You Bring

NV5 Geospatial is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to work remotely and support US Southern Command. The position requires US citizenship, the ability to pass a basic background check for access to US military bases, and a US Government Secret security clearance. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information assurance, or a related field—or five years of equivalent cloud security experience—plus demonstrated expertise with IAM, SIEM tools, ZTA, and cloud monitoring, as well as strong project management skills and an active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred). Preferred qualifications include CISSP, AWS Security, AI Specialty, or Microsoft security certifications and proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and any required security clearance investigations; only U.S. citizens are eligible for clearance. • Hold a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity or related field, or 5+ years cloud security engineering experience. • Demonstrated experience with SIEM tools, ZTA, and cloud security monitoring solutions. • Ability to manage and prioritize complex project tasks. • Active US Government Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred). • Preferred certifications: CISSP, AWS Security, AI Specialty, Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals. • Language proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish (optional).
