About the Role
In this role you will monitor construction sites, documenting field activities and performing on‑site testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. You will conduct calculations, reduce test data, and prepare draft reports while operating field screening equipment and recording readings. Additionally, you will read maps, follow directions, interpret engineering and construction plans, and serve as the primary ECS representative on project sites, coordinating daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. • Observe and document field activities during construction. • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. • Perform calculations, reduce test data, and draft reports. • Operate field screening equipment and record readings. • Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans. • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. • Represent ECS as the sole site representative. • Provide reliable transportation for site travel (mileage reimbursed).

What You Bring
We are looking for candidates actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, with a strong interest in how building materials are used in construction. The position requires the ability to lift 40–70 lb repeatedly, with occasional lifts of up to 85 lb, and reliable transportation to job sites (mileage is reimbursed). Relocation assistance is not available. • Pursue a B.S. or M.S. in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. • Lift 40‑70 lb repeatedly and occasionally 85 lb to waist height.
